Lightpainting at Lake of Waging, 28.01.2017
On this icy Saturday in January I was on my way with a friend to experminet with lightpainting again.
For the beginning, we planned to try at the frozen lake.
But during the day, the sun came out and the ice already got some huge cracks and holes.
So we decided to switch the location and try at a field.
After we had fixed some problems, we tried some kinds of spinning the steel wool.
Either the lighter quit the job or the steel wool not wanted to be on fire.
Additionally, it was pretty cold.
The lowest temperature of this day was below -10°C (14°F).
While our experimenting we could hear that the ice of the lake “lives”.
Sometimes we heared a loud cracking noise, sometimes a thud rumbling.
Maybe because of some air bubbles which were “walking” below the ice.
A selection of the successful tries are here available.
As the proverb
He who plays with fire will get burnt.
teaches us, you always have to be careful when experimenting with fire.
This time parts of the clothings became damaged.
But not very tragically.
